Lifehacker has an interesting post about website VectorMagic, which automagically vectorizes your images. All you need to do is select a few things, and you have a vector image ready! Of course, this works best for logos, but not so well for photographs. If you want a photographed images that you can zoom in to the pores of the person, you still need to get that $1000, 10 megapixel DSLR camera.
